Ooi Tiat Yen, or TY for short, is an avid traveler and self professed adventure addict. When she is not traveling for pleasure, she’s travelling for business, as she alternates between KL and Aussieland where she has a home and business. It seems this plucky lass first picked up a SLR in 1992 and apparently and promptly put it down again when she got stung by the travel bug. In 1996 she spent a month hiking and white water rafting in Nepal. In 1998 she climbed Mt Korbu, the second highest mountain in Peninsula Malaysia . In 2006 TY drove a 4×4 for 28 days through Paraguay, Bolivia and Peru. In 2007, she back-packed with like-minded friends across Europe, covering UK, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Spain & Belgium . In 2008 she drove another 4×4 across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Kenya.
In 2009 she went on a skiing extravaganza and eating binge in Japan. And finally, in 2009, she reacquainted with a DSLR by joining this PhotoSafari to Siem Reap. Lo and behold, recently, she’s just upgraded her Canon 40D to a full frame Canon 5D MK II. She says to-date; she’s eaten her way thru 29 countries. She now calls Malaysia Home, Aussieland her front yard, and the world her backyard. Gosh! Young people these days are so lucky.
