June Yap
June Yap Yu-dan is interested in everything art. She has a certificate qualifying her to teach floral arrangement. She also teaches Chinese ink brush painting. Recently she held a solo flora arrangement exhibition which raised RM27,000 for charity, and she is now doing a book on floral arrangement. She collects sea shells from the sea shores around the world, antique irons, paintings and even rocks. Many of the rocks in her unique collection have won prizes in rock display competitions. Ha! Bet you didn’t know there are actually Rock Exhibitions and Competitions being held in Malaysia and Internationally. Now you know.
This mother of two adult children is also a successful business woman, and an internationally known Chinese Ink painting artist. She has participated in dozens of international art exhibitions, but she is a beginner in photography with less than 2 years shooting experience with a DSLR.
However, her artistic third eye and enthusiasm has already yielded two editions of a 200 pages Coffee Table book of her travel pictures, one in Mandarin, published in China, and another in English, published in Malaysia. Interestingly the title of the book is “The Third Eye”. Although she has been shooting pictures for less than two years, at a recent exhibition for her photographs another RM21,000 was raised for her favourite charity. She’s got a good eye for unique perspective as seen from her pictures here.
