The previous year’s World Press Photo Awards were plagued with controversial photo enhancing techniques employed by the participants. This year however, the judges disqualified 8% of the shortlisted entries due to photo manipulation. Finally John Stanmeyer’s photo was chosen as the WPPA’s 2013 award. However, this was not without controversies, It was revealed that The Chair of this year’s jury was Gary Knight. Both these guys were founders and shareholders of a company called VII photo.
