Penang Heritage Photowalk – 23rd and 24th August 2014

I have never been to me

Photos and story written by Maxby Chan on his discovery of his birth place.

I have travelled the world but never really explored the homeland where I was born. The Heritage Photowalk organised by Coffee & Art Fringe Festival Asia (CAFFA) for the Georgetown Festival last weekend was the first time I really explored this part of Penang. The present Penang Government has done a wonderful job of preserving the heritage of this area. The people of Penang are now able to reap the harvest of their forefathers. I hope that they are able to continue with their good work. Here are some impressions of this photo walk.

I was lucky to be transported back in time to the 60's when Penang was just a free port.

The wire art is one of the attractions and is littered all over the Heritage Walk. Personally I find that there is a need for more art expressions.

This is NOT Street Art. These are the people who give street art a bad name.
