Pahalgam is a popular tourist town in Northern most state of Jammu, Kashmir. It is situated on the banks of Lidder River at an altitude of about 7,200 ft above sea level and holds in the central position in Lidder Valley.. The scenic place is used to shoot many Bollywood films. Today there are many tourist hotels offering good accommodation facilities to tourist.
Photosafari organised a trip to Pahalgam in Oct 2012. When we were there it was raining. The town is relatively small and one can cover the whole town on foot. However, the scenes are nicer if you take a van ride up to the surrounding mountains to Betaab Valley. Betaab Valley is about 15km from Pahalgam. This is one of the must visit places when you visit Kashmir.
