Kenny Chan Zhi Yao

Kenny Chan Zhi Yao, – is a 24 year old student from the National University of Singapore. Kenny is the youngest participant of the PhotoMalaysia PhotoSafari program. He specializes in computer engineering, and is presently on a scholarship to study techno-preneurship at Stanford University, California. In his photography, Kenny is interested in everything old school. Photography is a form of relaxation for him and he says film based photography gives him a chance to get away from computers. His passion for photography started some 5 years ago when he was given an Olympus OM1. Since then he has not looked back. Kenny says the

Photo Safari is an excellent program for meeting other photographers, and to shoot subjects which are not from the usual tourist circuit. Kenny shot with a Hasselblad and a panoramic camera throughout the whole trip. The Hasselblad is a fine medium format film camera, often preferred by professionals when film was king.
