Jeff Loon was born and bred in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and KL has a very special place in his heart. He says going to school in those days when there were no traffic jams was easy, even when he had to travel across KL daily to get there. After completing school he joined the Royal Military College and continued to served in the military for almost 3 decades. He opted for early retirement from the military as he wanted a taste of live in civvy street. He joined the national airline as a pilot and that is what he is at present. He loves his job as a pilot, as it allowed him to meet and work with people much younger than himself. In his job each day is a new day, different from the day before, different people, different planes, different passengers, different destinations and of course different weather conditions.
His three children are all grown up and each have a life of their own. Jeff also hase two lovely granddaughters.
Photography become a part of his life only since 2007. He says shooting pictures of other people and of our surrounding have given him a small latitude of expression in his view of life around him. Over the last two years photography has taken Jeff to Hanoi, HoChiMinh City and Dalat in Vietnam, Padang and Bali in Indonesia and of course around Malaysia. He says these photography excursions have given him many opportunities not only take pictures of people and their surrounding but to also make new friends with some really nice people out there. He is looking forward to more photography expeditions. In just under two years from now, when he finally stops working, he hopes he will be able to spend more time on his photography.
