In late summer and early autumn, the Kamchatka bears will gather around the rivers waiting for the salmon to swim upstream to spawn. Their survival through the long bitterly cold winter depends on whether they can fatten themselves before going into hibernation. This is where the cycle of two distinct species meets. One fighting for survival and one desperate to reproduce the next generation.
