Kite Aerial Photography – Maiden Voyage

Since young I have always wondered how awesome would it be if I could photograph a subject for a birds-eye view perspective. Little did I know that one day I would pursue on this dream of mine.

It all started when a friend of mine asked me to research on a camera call GoPro which was pretty popular extreme sports camera. I decided to head to the all familiar Flickr to find out what GoPro camera is capable of. I was immediately awe by the various pictures taken by GoPro, situations where I dream of taking pictures but wouldn’t dare to use my cameras.

And soon I chance upon this Flickr Group known as Kite Aerial Photography (KAP). After seeing pictures that were taken from a kite, I was fired up!. I knew I wanted to take pictures like that too. I immediately go on my quest to search for “Kite Aerial Photography” on Google, Youtube and Vimeo. The more I research, the more I got interested, it was a downhill spiral. Eventually, I was “poison”! I started buying the equipment needed to accomplish this desire.

It has been 2 1/2 weeks since I first did my research on Kite Aerial Photography. Today I am excited to share with you my maiden kite aerial photograph.

These pictures are taken in a Kite Flying Area next to where Google HQ is.
I haven’t build my KAP rig to house the camera yet. just attaching the GoPro camera directly to the rope

Stay tune for more KAP adventures from me =).
